Concerts on Park Proudly Presents Vince Ercolamento and the Higher Ground Quintet With Pianist John Nyerges Friday, September 20, 2019 – 7 p.m. Immanuel Baptist Church, 815 Park Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607 We kick off our fall Concerts on Park series with Vince Ercolamento and the Higher Ground Quintet featuring Vince on saxophone, Peter Chwazik on bass, Paul Mastriani on drums, John Nyerges on piano and Joe Chiappone on guitar. Vince has been standing on Higher Ground in Rochester music for 35 years. Known for his performance, compositions, arranging and teaching, Vince assembles the finest local musicians to bring his very smooth jazz music. Pianist John Nyerges is also a Concerts on Park favorite, a pianist for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and a master of jazz Now in our sixteenth year, Concerts on Park brings local artists to the acoustically beautiful setting for an evening of intimate music with an engaged audience. We are proudly sponsored by the Coffee Connection, best coffee in town putting women in recovery to work. Cost of the evening is $10 for adults, $5 for students with a $25 family maximum.

Imagine time-traveling one night through the dark cabarets and speakeasies of New York, Paris, Berlin, London, and Atlantic City, reliving the 1920s in all its decadence…prohibition, gangsters, ingénues, and intrigue. Prohibition takes you on a journey through the era, from Rudy Vallee to Josephine Baker, and Kurt Weill to King Oliver, featuring the top hits of the decade accompanied by vintage imagery and video from the period. Prohibition, while suitable for all ages, contains imagery and mature themes.
